Plot Summary:

 

Housekeeper Maya (Nirupa Roy) accidentally kills her employer while attempting to stave off his advances. Maya, who is being pursued by the authorities, chooses to hang her son from a temple's doors. The temple priest discovers the child and chooses to take him home to raise him. As they are praying in the temple for a child, a wealthy guy (Nasir Hussain) and his wife arrive. When the temple priest hears them, he offers them the abandoned infant and asks them to raise him as their own. The child is given the name Jaishankar by the couple. When Jaishankar reaches adulthood, he takes over the management of his father's business.

 

Jaishankar eventually meets Aarti (Astha Parekh) and develops feelings for her. He agrees to meet with her father to talk about their impending nuptials after successfully charming her. He hilariously runs her father over on the way to her house, instantly killing him. He hides the fact that he was to blame for their father's passing while making an effort to make peace by taking care of Aarti, her sister Mala, and her brothers Pappu. After Aarti learns the truth and sees him having a sexual encounter with cabaret dancer Rita, things only become worse. When the family learns that Jaishankar has fathered a boy by Rita, Jaishankar is first shunned by his father, who then arrests him for Rita's murder. It comes out that he was being financially blackmailed by Rita and is actually saving his sister's husband Rajesh. In the end, it is made clear that Rita's real husband killed her because she had cheated on other people and was materialistic.
